Office Web Apps and BPOS gossip

(Stephen Parker, Head of Cloud Strategy)

Betsy Webb, GM MS Online Division has recently said “"We’ll certainly be talking a lot more about Office Web Apps delivered through BPOS as part of future capabilities of BPOS”.  This seems to have gathered plenty of coverage and although interesting it just seems too obvious a play to warrant too much excitement (and yet here I am commenting as well!!).  With the obvious target of Google Apps, Microsoft was clearly going to add Office Web Apps to head off any criticism of missing capability.  Also Betsy’s comments had no firm timescales attached to them, could be made available next week, next month, who knows.

Still watch this space as more news arrives.
