Joining Microsoft Cloud Essentials resets the 12 month anniversary for your free BPOS internal usage rights

(Stephen Parker, Head of Cloud Strategy)

If you have signed up as a Microsoft Online Services partner then you may already be taking advantage of the 250 internal usage rights (IUR).  For the first year this is free and for year onwards if you sell 2 BPOS deals with 25 or more seats then these internal usage rights remain free.  This is a pretty low barrier and should be easy to achieve for anybody who has made any sort of commitment to BPOS.

However if for any reason you are approaching your 12 month anniversary and have not yet met the requirements then there is a quick way to reset your 12 month free period.

Go to and join the Cloud Essentials program.  This will not only reset you 12 month free period, but also add a number of other benefits.

Logon on to claim Cloud Essentials Benefit does not work for us. The old Microsoft Online Services Partner Advantage Subscription marks the Live-ID as already used and therefore not eligible for a sign-up. Noone at Microsoft has any idea how to solve it. Do you have a trick or something for us?

  2. Christoph says:

Talked to about twenty different people at Microsoft on several hotline and finally found the solution: Online Sign-Up is not possible. You have to call Microsoft Cloud Customer Partner Care and not the Regional Service Center. In Germany this would be +49 800 6649303, choose Option 2.
